The Campaign for the Civil Society and Iraqis Rights (CCSIR) is pleased to announce the First IRAQI CIVIL SOCIETY CONFERENCE (ICSC) that will take place in Washington, DC on Feb. 14-15, 2003, Co-organized and hosted by the Iraqi Community, and its Institutions in the USA.
More than 30 Iraqi Community organizations around the world, human rights, intellectual and professional institutions will participate. The conference is open for participation by all Iraqi communities and their institutions around the world, Iraqi Intellectuals, veterans of the Iraqi society, social and rights activists, and all individuals of our Iraqi society who want to participate in the promotion of Civil rights and liberties of Iraqis.

The ICSC goal is to consolidate the civil movement of the Iraqi society to assist in developing the civil society norms, the principles of individual-group rights in our society, the rule of law, social peace, reconciliation and the process of democratization in Iraq during the transitional period, and in future Iraq. The ICSC will also deliver its support and contribution to the efforts of the IO parties to liberate our Iraqi society from the dictatorship, and support the IO's commitment for the unity of Iraq, and to the federal-democracy as was declared by the IOC on Dec. 15/2003, in London, UK. A Proposal and a feedback to the IO parties to assist in the transition to the civil society and stability will be discussed, voted and delivered at the ICSC.
The conference will discuss, and declare to the Iraqi society, to the IO parties , and to the International community important documents to the future of our Iraqi Society :
- The Declaration of the Rights of Iraqis ( Bill of Rights).
- Building the Civil Society Proposal to the people of Iraq.
- The declaration of the Iraqi Community in the USA to the American people, and the world community.
- The declaration of Iraqi Women to The Iraqi people and the World Society .
- The declaration of the Intifadha and Iraqi Tribes to the Iraqi people, and their role in the liberation and thereafter building the civil society in Iraq.
- The Civil society norms and the suggested steps for transition to Federal-Democracy in Iraq –A proposal.
- The proposal for the Social peace and Re-conciliation and healing of the Iraqi Society.
- The Iraqi Civil Society Movement Memorandum to the IO parties.
- The Iraqi Civil Society Conference declaration to the Iraqi people and to the World Community.
Panels of qualified professionals of the Iraqi society who are members of the CCSRI, are working on theses documents. As a part of our campaign commitment to transparency and sharing information and opinion with the public, all the conference documents will be posted on: http://devoted.to/iraq
Your feedback, and suggestions to the conference and panel members on theses documents can be forwarded to any member of the conference information committee, whose names and e-mails are announced below.
Well-known Veterans of the Iraqi society, IO parties representatives, and representative of more than 20 International organizations will be invited to welcome the conference, and to witness the declaration of the Rights of Iraqis and the Civil society proposals.

Our campaign will issue the names of donors in an Honor List to be an official document of the ICSC. Members of the Campaign members shall bear the cost of their travel and the donations and contributions shall be used to finance invitations of our Society Veterans and hosting the ICSC in addition to some limited income members Your support of the Iraqi Civil Society Movement, will be crucial to its success in carrying out its civil and human duties.
Let us make the ICSC a historic event that contributes to the liberation of our Iraqi people , and to develop a civil stable life for the suffering people of Iraq by declaring the Rights of Iraqis document, and the Civil society proposal to the Iraqi society.
Let us join the efforts of all Iraqi communities, Individual and civil society institutions around the world together with the IO parties to participate in the liberation, healing ,and reconciliation of our Iraqi people, and to make the ICSC a clear message to the US and the International community that the Iraqi people, the Iraqi Communities, its civil and rights institutions, the IO parties are all united towards the liberation of Iraq, democracy, civil society norms, that our ancient peaceful Iraqi people deserve.
