White House Meeting with Iraq and Afghanistan Non-Governmental Organizatoins

On March 21, 2006, The Iraq Foundation met with the President and First Lady in the Roosevelt Room for an NGO conference. The participants represent leading non-governmental organizations and educational institutions whose programs directly benefit the people of Iraq and Afghanistan .  Some of these organizations persevered through the most difficult times in the two countries.  All were founded out of a desire to promote freedom and democracy in a region beset by oppression and intolerance.
