On behalf of the Iraq Foundation, IF hopes that all our Muslim friends had good Ramadan and enjoyed happy Eid Al-Fitr celebration! IF is committed to providing our supporters with updates on all of our work. IF is please to announce the successful completion of the second year of Youth Civics Camp apart of the PEDP project. IF also held a press conference to announce the publication of a groundbreaking report assessing the Iraqi government's transparency and accountability as well as its ability to safeguard the full spectrum of civil and political liberties, produced as part of the Post Election Democracy Project last month.
IF successfully held the second training workshop in Baghdad, which focused on the art of film editing, for religiously diverse groups of Iraqi students participating in the Interfaith Cooperation Project (ICP). In the coming months, IF is looking forward to being able to share with you the 15 documentaries on Iraq's religious diversity created by our youth participants as a result of this project!
During July, IF continued to produce and broadcast television and radio talk show programs throughout Iraq as part of the Provincial Accountability and Governance project (PAG).
In addition, IF's second training cycle continued in all seven training centers as part of IF's efforts to empower Iraqi widows through life skills education, mentoring and vocational training during July. IF completed this training cycle during August. Due to Ramadan, IF will hold a graduation in September for the 270 widows that participated in the training! |

IF Holds 2nd Training Session on the Art of Film Editing in Baghdad
IF successfully conducted our 2nd Interfaith Cooperation Project (ICP) training from July 25 to 27, 2011 in Baghdad. The training aimed at introducing participants from the 15 participating teams to the art of film-editing in order to enable them in editing their row-documentary films on religious locations. 18 participants physically attended the training due to the deterioration of the security situation, 1 participant from Dahouk team participated through Skype.
IF looks forward to sharing the completed documentary films in the near future!

IF Conducts Radio Programs to Highlight the Fight Against Corruption throughout Iraq's Provinces!
We are pleased to report the broadcast of 14 radio programs throughout Iraq. IF's Integrity Monitoring Groups, formed as a direct result of the Provincial Accountability and Governance Project (PAG), sponsored these call-in programs throughout Iraq to update the public and provide provincial officials with the opportunity to discuss the measures they are implementing to curb corruption. As part of our on-going efforts to assist and empower Iraqi widows throughout the country, IF is thrilled to announce the successful competition of the Second Training Cycle of the Empowering Iraqi Widows to Thrive Project (EIWT) during August! Despite a modified schedule due to Ramadan, IF provided educational and vocational training in all 7 centers, benefiting 270 widows!

IF holds Press Conference to Announce Civil Society Leaders Report Assessing the Iraqi Government's Transparency in Baghdad

On Wednesday July 20 2011, IF held a press conference in Al-Sayd Club in Baghdad to announce the issuing of the first report assessing the Iraqi government's transparency and accountability as well as its ability to safeguard the full spectrum of civil and political liberties. The 1st report is named (The Democratic Transition in Iraq Report 2009-2010). The press conference discussed all the 3 chapters of the report: the Media, the CoR, and the political parties.
