TV and Radio Campaigns on UN Recommendations

On September 2nd, IF's HRAI Team Launched a joint media campaign with local provincial council members to promote and discuss a variety of human rights topics. Three programs were produced, covering women's rights,  honor killings in Kurdistan, and the role of CSOs in protecting human rights, where held in September. 

During October, IF's HRAI team also continued to work with local partners and provincial council members to produce and broadcast local TV programs on human rights themes.  Seven programs were produced this month, covering: the role of the governmental associations in supporting and protecting human rights; the establishment of the Iraqi Human Right Commission; the mechanism of the Universal Periodic Review; administrative corruption and human rights; the human rights situation in prisons and detention centers; minority rights; and forced disappearance.

The final program was held on November 4th. A total of 10 programs were produced in collaboration with provincial council officials through the course of this media campaign.

  September 2nd-Azadi local TV in Erbil – The topic was about "Women rights and honor killings in Kurdistan"

September 14th-Dahouk local TV in Dahouk-The topic was about "Women rights"

September 17^th-Salah Al-Deen Satellite Channel-the topic was about ”the role of CSOs in supporting and protecting human rights”

On Oct. 4, IF implemented in Salah Alden-Satellite TV Channel, the 3rd HR program on “the role of the governmental associations in supporting and protecting human rights”.

On Oct. 5, the 4th HR program was transmitted on Al-Hurriya Satellite TV Channel about “the establishment of the Iraqi Human Right Commission”. 

The 5th HR program “the mechanism of the Universal Periodic Review” was transmitted on Al-Hurriya Satellite TV Channel on Oct. 12.

IF implemented the 6th HR program “Administrative corruption and human rights” in Al-Ghadeer Satellite TV Channel on Oct. 15. 

The 7th HR program” the human rights situation in prisons and detention centers” was implemented on Oct. 22. 

“The minorities’ rights” was the 8th HR program that IF implemented on Al-Hurriya Satellite TV Channel on Oct. 19.  

Al-Anbar Satellite TV Channel transmitted IF’s 9th HR TV program “Forced disappearance” on Oct. 20.
