Human Rights Education Workshop

IF held a workshop in the Southern governorate of Basra from March 17-18, 2007 to raise awareness on human rights principles and practices and debate constitutional article 41. After reviewing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the 21 participants were asked to identify the articles that they needed further information on. After a discussion on the declaration, the participants were asked to identify human rights violations at the government and ways in which they could be addressed. The workshop also discussed personal status law of 1959 and constitutional article 41.
