Baghdad
November, 2005

The Human Rights Resource Center (HRRC) is a joint initiative between the Iraq Foundation (IF) and the Iraqi Ministry of Human Rights (MOHR). The center was established to help strengthen and promote the understanding of the basic principles and universal declarations of human rights among Iraqis. The HRRC contains computer and internet access, documents, books, and journals, among other resources on human rights.

The center’s facilities and human rights workshops are available to the public free of charge.

The center, located in the ministry’s main building in Baghdad

1. Supports human rights education and the efforts of both governmental and non governmental organizations working in the country on such issues.

2. Contains a library with hundreds of resources including books, journals, declarations, CDs and articles on human rights, and internet access.

3. Maintains a website aimed at disseminating information on human rights. The website also provides human rights organizations working in Iraq a venue to share their information and publicize their efforts.

4. Grants researchers a wealth of resources and information on human rights.

5. Sponsors human rights education workshops and seminars.
