Constitution Education Workshop

Diwaniya and Najaf
October 7 - 8, 2005

The Iraq Foundation, in collaboration with the Human Rights and Democracy Organization, have held another two successful workshops on constitution education in the Southern governorates of Diwanya and Najaf on the 7th and 8th of October, 2005 respectively. Some 120 people attended the workshops, which focused on the international principles of human rights, women rights in the constitution, and the roles of the federal and regional authorities in the constitution draft. Other issues raised during the workshops included: the relationship between the legislative, the expression of executive and judiciary authorities in the constitution, constitutional rights and guarantees as well as transparency and the referendum.
