On November 30 and December 01, 2011, IF implemented a two-day training of trainers (TOT) workshop on Iraq's National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NAS). The workshop was held at the Commission of Integrity headquarters in Baghdad. Two members from each of the 15 Integrity Monitoring Groups attended the training. During the workshop, IMG members recieved expert trainging from the Commission on Itegrity on the following subjects, relevant to Iraq's National Strategy:

  • General Concepts and terminology used in the NAS
  • Strengths and weakness in the NAS
  • Implementation strategy of the NAS
  • Legal framework of the strategy
  • Laws that need to be issued to supplement and strengthen the strategy
  • Role of each party in the implementation of the strategy (NGOs, government, media, general public, educational institutions, Commission of Integrity).

With this training, IF's IMGs are empowered to address their local communities about the NAS and how individual citizens, youth, NGOs, and other relevant stakeholders can assist in the implimentation of this strategy and promote key legislation to fight corruption in Iraq.

IF will provide training to Iraqi youth throughout the provinces to farmiliarize them with their role in implimenting the Strategy in the coming month as part of this project.
