WIES Marketing Training: March 2014

April 30, 2014
- IF and in collaboration with partner NGOs and Marketing Expert, Dr. Saadon Chithir, initiated a 2-day marketing strategies training for 78 WIES beneficiaries in Baghdad, Basra and Maysan. The training curriculum was crafted by Dr. Chithir to fit WIES beneficiaries’ needs. The training tackled different marketing subjects including: marketing principles, targeting costumers, sustaining costumer’s relations and pricing methods.          


PEACE Legal Clinics Surpass Targets!

- January – March 2014: IF and Partners NGOs in all five provinces continued interviewing women victims of GBV in their legal clinics, reaching out to a total of 1580 women by the end of March 2014.  During this period, 426 women received legal consultation and 174 were provided with legal representation at courts. The number of victimized women that have benefitted from the legal support during this reporting period totals 256 women. IF and partner NGOs exceeded the proposed number of beneficiaries to the legal clinics by provided the legal support and representation for an extra 80 victimized women. Furthermore, the legal clinics in Erbil, Baghdad, Babil, Daiyla will continue their efforts to support victimized women as contribution until the End of 2014. Photos:


Iraqi Government Agrees to Launch Action Plan to implement UNSCR 1325!

- January – March 2014: The national coalition continued their efforts to publish and disseminate the National Charter through local print and social media to raise awareness among local and national government decision-makers about the recommendations of the National Charter. The Task Force members worked closely with government officials and other international workers to implement the first recommendation of the national Charter which encourages the government to make a workplan to implement UN Security Council Resolution 1325. These efforts  have paid off! The government declared on February 6, 2014 that they will launch the National Action Plan on UNSCR (2014-2018).
