IF Executive Director Meets with Members of the Iraqi Council of Representatives

- IF’s Executive Director Mrs. Basma Fakri met with members of the Iraqi COR on February 16th, 2016 to discuss IF’s al-Rasid project. Those present at the meeting also discussed UNSCR 1325 and the need to create a body in the state to push for women’s rights after the recent dissolution of the Women’s Affairs Committee.                                   Additional meeting details in Arabic

Al-Rasid Activity 7 Photos

- As part of Activity 7 in Al-Rasid, PTFs held 9 community meetings to set priorities on GBV and the inclusion of women in peace-making initiatives. Participants focused on issues included in the NAP. These meetings were attended by 327 community members including 212 women and 115 men. Al-Rasid Activity 6 Photos

- As part of carrying out Activity 6 of Al-Rasid, which encompasses monthly meetings with local officials and stakeholders to implement the NAP, PTFs reached out to 369 participants (211 men, 158 women). Additionally, PTFs reached out to provincial officials and local decision makers for consultation and advocacy in order to evolve policies and mechanisms for implementing the NAP in light of local needs and conditions. A total of 14 meetings were held in this reporting period.
