  • Resolution 1281, 10 December 1999 Sets committment to monitor the equitable distribution of goods.

  • Resolution 1280, 3 December 1999 Reaffirms extension of Oil-for-Food program.

  • Resolution 1275, 19 November 1999 Extends the Oil-for-Food program another 180 days.

  • Resolution 1266, 4 October 1999 Raises the ceiling for Iraqi oil exports. Under Oil for Food Iraq can now export $3.04 billion per sixth-month phase.

  • Resolution 1242, 21 May 1999 Renews the Oil for Food program for another 180 day phase, beginning May 25, 1999.

  • Resolution 1205, 5 November 1998 Expresses alarm at Iraq's decision to stop cooperation with UNSCOM and IAEA weapons inspectors on October 31, 1998. Reiterates that Iraq must fully comply with its responsibilities under Resolution 687 (April 3, 1991).

  • Resolution 1194, 9 September 1998 Condemns Iraq's decision to hamper the work of UNSCOM and IAEA weapons inspectors.

  • Resolution 1158, 25 March 1998 The Security Council authorizes the exporting of petroleum and petroleum products originating in Iraq not to exceed a total of $1.4 billion within 90 days of 5 March 1998.

  • Resolution 1154, 2 March 1998 The Security Council endorses the memorandum of understanding signed by the Deputy Prime Minister of Iraq and the Secetary-General on 23 February 1998.

  • Resolution 1153, 20 February 1998 The Security Council increases the amount of oil-for-food revenues Iraq is able to generate to $5.256 billion for a new period of 180 days.

  • Resolution 1143, 4 December 1997 The Security Council extends the oil-for-food deal for a new period of 180 days.

  • Resolution 1137, 12 November 1997 The Security Council condemns Iraq's refusal to allow two UN weapons inspectors into Iraq because of their nationality,denounces Iraq's threat to the safety of reconnaissance aircraft and stresses that Iraq's removal of equipment from certain sites is unacceptable.

  • Resolution 1134, 23 October 1997 The Security Council condemns Iraq's refusal to allow UN access to weapon sites, demands that Iraq allow unconditional and unrestricted access to sites and intends to oblige states to prevent the entry of Iraqi officials responsible for non-compliance.

  • Resolution 1129, 12 September 1997 The Security Council decides that states may import petroleum and petroleum products from Iraq for a sum not exceeding $1 billion (US) every 60 days.

  • Resolution 1115, 21 June 1997 The Security Council condemns Iraq's refusal to allow site access, demands that Iraq allow immediate and unrestricted access to cooperate fully with previous resolutions and express intention to impose further measures on Iraqi officials responsible for non-compliance.

  • Resolution 1111, 4 June 1997 The Security Council decides that the provisions of Resolution 986 remain in force for another 180 days, after which it will be up for renewal, and requests that the Secretary-General report to the Council on whether Iraq has sufficiently distributed humanitarian supplies to civilians.

  • Resolution 1051, 27 March 1996 The Security Council approves implementation of a monitoring mechanism to ensure that Iraq imports technology relevant only to promoting economic and social development.

  • Resolution 986, 14 April 1995 The Security Council authorizes import of petroleum products from Iraq of no more than $1 billion (US) every 90 days, the payment of which will be credited to a UN account and used to meet the humanitarian needs of the Iraqi people.

  • Resolution 949, 15 October 1994 The Security Council condemns Iraq's military deployments near the Iraq/Kuwait border and demands that Iraq return military units to original positions and cease using hostile military force to threaten its neighbors or UN operations in Iraq.

  • Resolution 833, 27 May 1993 The Security Council demands Iraq and Kuwait respect demarcated internation boundary line between the two nations.

  • Resolution 806, 5 February 1993 The Security Council guarantees the inviolability of the international boundary between Kuwait and Iran and affirms that the necessity of the UN-Iraq Kuwait Observation Mission shall be reviewed every 6 months.

  • Resolution 778, 2 October 1992 The Security Council decides that States receiving funds from Iraqi sale of petroleum shall transfer such funds, not to exceed $200 million (US) to the escrow account, which will be used to help eliminate weapons of mass destruction and provide humanitarian relief in Iraq.

  • Resolution 773, 26 August 1992 The Security Council urges Iraq-Kuwait Boundary Demarcation Commission to demarcate the Eastern boundary as soon as possible and urges Iraq & Kuwait to cooperate fully.

  • Resolution 715, 11 October 1991 The Security Council approves plans submitted by Security-General and director of IAEA and demands that Iraq cooperate fully with such plans.

  • Resolution 712, 19 September 1991 The Security Council requests that the first one-third of the account set up to provide humanitarian resources to the Iraqi people be released and that the resources be distributed in an equal manner.

  • Resolution 707, 15 August 1991 The Security Council condemns Iraq's breach of agreements with the IAEA and relevant UN resolutions and demands that Iraq allow unconditional access to sites, cease nuclear development of any kind and cooperate fully with the IAEA's investigations.

  • Resolution 706, 15 August 1991 The Security Council authorizes all states to import petroleum and petroleum products from Iraq, to be approved by the Security Council, not to exceed $1.6 billion (US), which will be paid into a UN-established escrow account and used to purchase humanitarian supplies for Iraqi citizens.

  • Resolution 705, 15 August 1991 The Security Council decides that compensation paid to Iraq, as established in Resolution 687, shall not exceed 30 percent of the annual value of petroleum products.

  • Resolution 700, 17 June 1991 The Security Council approves the Guidelines to Facilitate Full International Implementation of Security Council Resolution 687.

  • Resolution 699, 17 June 1991 The Security Council approves plan of Secretary-General as outlined in Resolution 687, Paragraph 9 and confirms that the Special Commission and IAEA have the authority to destroy, remove or render harmless items specified in Resolution 687, Paragraphs 8 and 12.

  • Resolution 692, 20 May 1991 The Security Council decides that the Fund and Commission referred to in Resolution 687, Paragraph 18 shall be established and direct the Governing Council to implement the provisions of Section E of Resolution 687.

  • Resolution 689, 9 April 1991 The Security Council approves the report of the Secretary-General on the implementation of Resolution 687, Paragraph 5 and decides that the Security Council shall review whether to terminate the outlined observer unit every 6 months.

  • Resoution 688, 5 April 1991 The Security Council condemns Iraq's repression of the civilian population, especially the Kurds, and demands that Iraq end such repression and insists that Iraq allow international humanitarian organizatins to assist those in need.

  • Resolution 687, 8 April 1991 The Security Council demands that Iraq and Kuwait respect demarcated internation boundary line, calls for an immediate cease fire, and decides that Iraq must allow for the destruction of all weapons of mass destruction. The Security Council further decides that a Special Commmission for inspecting Iraq's weapons sites must be established and demands that Iraq not develop or acquire nuclear weapons.

  • Resolution 686, 2 March 1991 The Security Council affirms the validity of Resolutions 660, 661, 662, 664, 665, 666, 667, 669, 670, 674, 677, and 678. It further demands that Iraq accept above resolutions and thus immediately rescind actions to annex Kuwait and cease hostile actions against member states.

  • Resolution 685, 31 January 1991 The Security Council decides to extend mandate of the Un Iran-Iraq military Observer Group for one more month.

  • Resolution 678, 29 November 1990 The Security Council demands that Iraq fully comply with Resolution 660 and authorizes member states cooperating with the government of Kuwait to use all necessary means to restore international peace if Iraq does not comply by Jan 15, 1991.

  • Resolution 677, 28 November 1990 The Security Council condemns Iraq's attempt to destabilize Kuwait's population and destroy its civil records and mandates the Secretary-General to hold a copy of such records on behalf of the Kuwaiti government.

  • Resolution 676, 28 November 1990 The Security Council extends the mandate of the UN Iran-Iraq military Observer Group until January 31, 1991 and requests the Secretary-General to make further recommendations about the group's future by that time.

  • Resolution 674, 29 October 1990 The Security Council demands that Iraq cease taking Kuwait and third-state nationals hostage and mistreating them and calls for Iraq to ensure the well-being and safety of such persons.

  • Resolution 671, 27 September 1990 The Security Council extends the mandate of the Un Iran-Iraq Military Observer Group until Nov. 30, 1990 and request that the Secretary-General make further recommendations about the group's future at that time.

  • Resolution 670, 25 September 1990 The Security Council calls upon states to uphold their obligations under Resolution 661 and decides that states shall deny permission to take-off to any aircraft destined to land in Iraq, except under conditions mentioned in this resolution.

  • Resolution 669, 24 September 1990 The Security Council entrusts the Committee established under Resolution 661 with the task of examining requests for assistance made under the provisions of Article 50.

  • Resolution 667, 16 September 1190 The Security Council condemns Iraq's actions against diplomatic personnel in Kuwait, and demands the release of those foreign nationals and insists that Iraq protect the safety of all diplomatic personnel in Kuwait.

  • Resolution 666, 13 September 1990 The Security Council decides that the Committee established in Resolution 661 shall constantly review the foodstuffs situation in Iraq and Kuwait, expects Iraq to comply with Resolution 664 and requests the Secretary-General to urgently and consistently seek information regarding this situation.

  • Resolution 665, 25 August 1990 The Security Council calls on member states deploying maritime forces to Kuwait to ensure that maritime shipping complies with Resolution 661.

  • Resolution 664, 18 August 1990 The Security Council demands that Iraq permit third-country nationals departure from Kuwait and Iraq and reaffirms that the annexation of Kuwait by Iraq is null and void.

  • Resolution 662, 9 August 1990 The Security Council decides that the annexation of Kuwait by Iraq has no legal validity, and demands that Iraq rescinds actions relating to that annexation and calls on states to not recognize that annexation.

  • Resolution 661, 6 August 1990 The Security Council determines that because Iraq has usurped the authority of the legitimate Kuwaiti government, states must prevent the import of Iraqi or Kuwaiti products and the sale of non-humanitarian products, especially military equipment.

  • Resolution 660, 2 August 1990 The Security Council condemns the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait and demands Iraq's immediate withdrawal as well as the start of negotiations between Iraq and Kuwait.

  • Resolution 651, 29 March 1990 The Security Council calls upon the parties concerned to implement Security Council Resolution 598, extends the mandate of the UN-Iraq Military Observer Group until September 30, 1990 and requests the Secretary-General to make further recommendations about the group's future at that time.
