Screenings and Q&A Sessions Continue: February 2012

This month, IF continued to hold screenings of student documentaries in the provinces including, Diyala, Basra, Dohouk, Maysan, Baghdad, Erbil, and Muthanna. Diverse audiences, including members of local communities, including Parliamentary members, former ministers, civic leaders, media representatives, film experts, academcs, students and representatives of international organizations, attended the screenings and participated in discussions.

After the screening, the filmmaking team talked about their experiences researching and documenting the sites. Participants were given the opportunity to offer feedback in question & answer sessions, which sparked interesting discussions on the provinces’ interfaith traditions and religious heritage. Participants praised the value and the benefits of this creative initiative.

Alsumaria TVstation completed editing the five winning teams’ documentaries into a five-part series.

IF continued helping project beneficiaries to compete in international film festivals.
